I don't think I have an opinion on it, to be honest. I disagree with the death penalty for a whole bunch of reasons that aren't worth voicing, because nobody's listening.
However, it was the comments by readers that really caught my eye. Apparently, people who do murder and other violent crimes are "evil" and death is the only solution. Be careful what you wish for, motherfuckers.

Dunno. He wanted to die like this. Dunno how I feel about the death penalty, I waver. But tell me- would you shed no tear if Shipman had died by ruling of the Crown, opposed to suicide?
Kudos for bringing up a topic no one wants to talk about- the real elephant in the room.
Susan: [shrug] Shipman did something that he couldn't undo, which was stupid of him. Perhaps he realized that and attempted to atone, in the end. Most people stop short of that (committing irrevocable acts) - they do stuff that impacts terribly on others, and just refuse to undo it. They often do these things for profit, believing the person(s) impacted are unable to do anything about it. Which is more evil - both groups are merely following their own train of thought, inadequately prepared for life as they have been, after all?
Shipman did nothing to me. And he's dead. So, the question is a difficult one to answer, being completely hypothetical. If you asked me the question about Albourne, though. That would be altogether more tricky!

Not wanting to be associated with these countries?
US is not and never be although thy have a very refined way to kill their enemies and do exactly what countries they condemn.
I just want to know if Reporters Without Borders made any statement about this case.
I have exchanged some e-mails with them asking way they only pay attention in countries that are not that friendly to US?
They say nothing about freedom of speech in US.

Ana: Well, the type of people who "run" countries are above question. They work in mysterious ways, and their vengeance is great. A bit like the way we're told God operates, really. Also a bit like damaged children!
Authority doesn't like to be questioned. Mostly, I think, because it's not very skilled at giving answers that bear any credence.
